Important changes affecting Probation in Gloucestershire

As part of the national ‘Transforming Rehabilitation’ programme implemented by the Ministry of Justice, responsibility for the management of offenders and the delivery of rehabilitation services currently provided by Gloucestershire Probation Trust transfers to one of two new organisations with effect from 1 June 2014. Our staff will continue to deliver the existing range of services from the same offices but through one or other of these two organisations as follows:

The National Probation Service (NPS) - who are responsible for high risk offenders

The Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire Community Rehabilitation Company (BGSW CRC) - who are responsible for low and medium risk offenders

These changes are purely organisational and do not affect the Community Orders or Licences of people on probation, who continue to report to the same probation offices as they do currently.

The Gloucestershire Probation Trust website will be closing down in the near future. In its place will be a new website for Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire Community Rehabilitation Company (BGSW CRC). This is currently being developed and will be online soon.
