Press Statement issued by Gloucestershire Probation Trust in respect of it's "Exceptional Performance"

Gloucestershire Probation Trust has achieved the highest rating in the newly-published national probation performance results for April to June 2011.

The Trust was designated'exceptional', and was one of only three Trusts out of 35 to achieve this standard.

The nationally and regionally set targets measure how well Probation manages offenders and protects the public.

Gloucestershire Probation Trust is also the top performing Trusts for reducing reoffending in the South West.

John Bensted, Chief Executive for Gloucestershire Probation, said:

“This is a great achievement for GPT, and credit goes to all our staff for the outstanding way in which they have worked over this period.

“It is the day-to-day work carried out by Probation staff which changes offenders’ behaviour, reduces re-offending and makes our community safer”.
