Gloucestershire Probation Service and Gloucester City Council worked together to refurbish benches in Denmark Road.
The benches were taken to the probation service, and, as part of their punishment, offenders there repaired them, stripped them down, and repainted them, replacing parts where necessary.
David Sutton, group manager for neighbourhood management, said: "During a walk round between the council's neighbourhood management team and local ward councilors three benches were identified which were in need of refurbishment.
"Working in partnership with the probation service these were removed, refurbished and put back into place within six weeks."
